"They ask you (O Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم) what they should spend.
Say: Whatever you spend of good must be for parents and kindred and orphans and Al-Masakin (the poor) and the wayfarer,
and whatever you do of good deeds, truly, Allah knows it well

Surah Al- Baqara v 215.

What right do we have to satisfy our desires when the needs of others have not been fulfilled

The Orphans

We have identified a need for the continuous care and development of Africa’s orphans.  There are many organisations in the world that attend to this need; however there are few that are Islamic organisations.  There are few countries in the world that are in a worse state of depravity than those in Africa.  Currently it is Sudan that is the centre of attention followed by Zimbabwe and Somalia.  All three countries are in dire social and economic straits.  Before them were the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Mozambique, Angola, Sierra Leone and Liberia of which none have escaped the debilitating effects of war, poverty and disease.  We have developed a sustainable system of continuous progression based on root cause analysis, empathetic problem solving and fundamental solution providing.

Root cause analysis

The root cause of the orphans is that they are parentless, this is obvious.  Parents provide love, guidance, care and homes for their little ones.  A small child, who is parentless, in Africa, has little hope of survival let alone of success or achievement.  The majority, of those that do survive their circumstances, become misguided adults who become morally reduced by the effects of those acts which they were forced to commit to survive.  Girls are often forced into whoredom or slavery the details of which are too painful to discuss.  Many boys roam in gangs seeking security amongst each other often they often turn to theft and thuggery to fill their stomachs.  These poor children have no parents to guide them towards that which is right and dignified.  These children have no means to support themselves nor do they possess knowledge beyond the most rudimentary that can help them to develop their intellect and character.  Character is moulded by environment and circumstance and guidance.  We are painfully aware that the standard of the environment and circumstances of most normal Africans is far below the acceptable European and American standards.  What then is the condition of these orphans in Africa?  What heinous acts are they forced to perform to survive beyond those we have herein mentioned?  What are their chances of survival and progression?  Who will aid and assist them and with what platform of development and for what purpose?  To answer those questions truthfully poses no great difficulty.  Their condition is deplorable and becoming worse.  They will continue to perform immoral acts as long as they will to survive for they know no different nor do they have any other means to live beyond the pawning of their own physical selves.  If we will not aid them then the non-Muslim organisations will continue to provide some aid in order to instil false beliefs and to indoctrinate the children into the already disreputable western philosophy of life.    If we do not provide a wholesome, pure, uncorrupted platform of relief devoid of desire for worldly recompense or for desire for any form of gain beyond the spiritual rewards who will?

Misguided children become misguided adults.  Misguided adults procreate and produce misguided children.  The cycle must be effectively broken.  But how? read more
